In fact, the love of ZHON to LI had already been faded and diverted to FU. But ZHON sympathized LI's situation so she was determined to leave FU and keep her engagement to marry LI. After killing WAI, LI hid away from being chased by WAI's brother HON. Thus HON kidnapped LI's mother and wanted to use her as a bait to trap LI.
